COVID-19 Update 6/29/20

It has been a while since our last update.   When we last wrote, we were hopeful that we might be seeing ongoing declines in COVID even with the opening of the economy.   It is now clear that the situation with COVID is worsening.  Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen very significant increases in COVID related illness in both Ohio and the country with the number of cases as high as they were at the peak in April.

Throughout this entire COVID crisis, we have continued to see patients in the office.  As many of you have seen, we have been wearing surgical masks for all patient visits.  We wear the masks to protect you.  Unfortunately, masks protect others more than the person who wears them.  It is our goal to stay healthy so that we can continue to care for you.  Therefore, starting on Wednesday, July 1 we will require all patients age 5 and older to be wearing a mask in order to enter the office.  If you do not have a mask or other face covering, we do have some cloth masks that you can have.   We will continue to screen patients for symptoms of COVID before they come in to the office.  We will continue to offer video visits to all patients.

We have received a lot of questions about various measure for prevention and treatment of COVID.   We have updated the website at to have details and references, but here is the quick summary:

  • Bleach (internally)
  • Hydroxychloroquine and Chloroquine

  • Bleach (to clean surfaces)
  • Dexamethasone (for hospitalized patients)
  • Face covering any time you are in public
  • Social distancing

Thank you for letting us care for you.
