• YES! Tara Klofta is currently accepting new patients. You can click the JOIN tab to download the membership registration.

  • There are several ways we can get you signed up: 1) You can download the membership registration from our website (click here), 2) we can email you the registration, 3) we can gather the necessary information over the phone, and we can have the registration paperwork ready for you to initial and sign at your first visit, 4) we can mail you a copy of the membership registration, and you can mail/fax/email it back or you can physically drop it off at our office during office hours.

  • We can typically get you scheduled for Established Care Visits in less than two weeks, but in some cases, we can get you an appointment in as little as 24 hours. For established patients, we have multiple same-day appointments for acute medical needs and usually less than a week for non-urgent visits.

  • We do! This is billed the same as an in-office visit ($20), and you will have a scheduled time for the telehealth appointment.

  • We have a voicemail option that the on-call provider checks after regular office hours (call the main office number after regular hours and follow the prompts). If a return call is deemed necessary by the provider, they will call you back.

  • We have multiple same-day appointments available for members of the practice. However, these are only filled starting at the beginning of office hours for that day. It is best to call about fifteen minutes after the office first opens. You can always leave a message on the voicemail. Same-day appointments are scheduled based on medical urgency, as determined by the office staff.

  • The average wait time in our office is less than one minute. If you arrive early, it is possible that we can see you before your scheduled time, but we cannot guarantee we can see you before your scheduled time.

  • In most cases, we will still see you if you arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled time. However, this will reduce your time with your provider (only a 15-minute appointment instead of a 30-minute appointment).

  • While you do not need to make an appointment for blood draws/allergy/vitamin shots, you may have to wait for 15-30 minutes and, in some cases, longer, depending on our availability. If you make an appointment for such a visit, this will reduce your wait time.

  • While many of our patients have some form of insurance (high deductible plans, Medicare/Medicaid, medical share plans, etc.), we do not bill insurance for visits/services. You will never be forced to change providers due to changes in insurance coverage.

  • We do not require our patients to wear a mask in our office unless they are having cold/flu/COVID symptoms (coughing, sore throat, fever/chills, headache, etc.). Even if you are scheduled for a routine follow-up, if you are having symptoms of cold/flu/COVID, please let one of our team members know before your appointment or when you first arrive.

  • In most instances, we can prescribe the medications you need. However, we do not prescribe stimulants and some narcotics. We can refer you to qualified providers to meet these unique needs.

  • We have some prescription samples here at the office that we may be able to give you. But for ongoing care, we recommend you consider Cost Plus Drugs (generic medications shipped to your house) or Prescription Bliss (they cover over 1500 brand name medications, also sent to your home). Some patients may qualify for the Medication Assistance Program at Mary Rutan Hospital (income dependent).

  • There are many options for parking around the Hickory Medical office. There is street parking on West Columbus Avenue and North Detroit Street. There are three designated and marked parking spaces on the east side of Lot 6 (across the street from the Hickory Medical office - all three spots to the right of the handicapped parking), as well as free parking in Lot 7 behind the Hickory Medical office, between the lot connected to our building and the city building.
