The blood drive dates have been announced for 2023! All dates are on Tuesdays from 12:30 - 3:30. Mark your calendars and help support your community in need. We will continue to send Facebook and email reminders, but for those of you that are regular donators, you can put the following dates on your calendar.

We wanted you to be aware of parking changes that have occurred recently as a result of changes made by the city to downtown parking. The changes have increased available parking for all downtown businesses, but there have been changes to where our patients should park.

You can always park in any available parking spaces on West Columbus Avenue and North Detroit Street.

Lot 6, directly in front of the Hickory Medical office, is now paid monthly parking only. Hickory Medical owns the first three spots to the right of the handicapped parking on the east side of the lot. Our patients can park in any of the three designated parking spots (there are Hickory Medical patient-parking-only signs in front of these spaces for clarity).

Lastly, there is a completely free lot BEHIND the Hickory Medical office (Lot 7, between the Hickory Medical office and the city building). Below are pictures to help you identify parking options around the Hickory Medical office.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Barth.

Hi Marie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today. I began working at Hickory Medical in April of 2021 after spending five years as a nurse practitioner at the Mary Rutan Hospital Urbana Clinic. In October 2021, the practice owners decided they were ready to take another path. We are extremely happy to partner with Affiliated Dermatology from Dublin, Ohio, in offering their services at the Hickory Medical DPC office in downtown Bellefontaine. Doctor Brett Kockentiet and his team from Affiliated Dermatology will see both Hickory and non-Hickory patients at our office on the first Tuesday of every month (evening hours starting around 4:30 pm). Patients with insurance can see Dr. K and his team at Mary Rutan Hospital, and those who wish to pay cash can be seen at the Hickory Medical office. When you schedule your appointment, please let the team at Affiliated Dermatology know you'd like to pay cash and be seen at the downtown Bellefontaine office.

Hickory Medical DPC is hosting a blood drive by Community Blood Center on Tuesday, August 23rd, between 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. You can view the flyer here. This is open to anyone eligible to donate and will take place in Lot 3, across the street from the Bellefontaine Post Office. You must register for the blood drive online, using the Community Blood Center website (REGISTER HERE). Lite refreshments will be provided.

Patients of Hickory Medical can call our office to schedule an appointment with the team from Affiliated Dermatology for Friday, July 15, between 8am - 12pm. This is a FREE Skin Cancer Screening at our office on West Columbus Avenue. Hickory Medical DPC has been a proud sponsor of one of the West Liberty Salem Ball Association’s farm league teams this year. The team is currently 10-1 and competing in the post-season tournament, held at the Dodge Park in West Liberty. They will compete against Huntsville on Tuesday, June 21, at 6:00 pm. Hickory Medical DPC is pleased to announce a two-year lease renewal with Small Nation enabling us to continue to provide quality, affordable healthcare at our downtown Bellefontaine office.

Hickory Medical DPC will have new office hours effective 1/1/22. While the total number of hours available in-office will not change, a couple of changes will occur. The bottom of each page of the website has the new office hours.

On January 1, 2022, Steven & Marie Barth will officially take over ownership of Hickory Medical DPC. You can read more about their journey by clicking on Our Team.
